For use on virtually all roofs, walls, floors, gravity tanks, troughs, etc…UV stable and moisture tight, it provides an air and vapor barrier. And the thick, 4 mil aluminum backing combined with a thinner layer of EternaBond’s advanced MicroSealant™ creates an extremely hard surface. A-Seal bonds to a wide range of materials including carbon steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, aluminum foil, gypsum board, wood, rubber, tar, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, fiberglass, brick, concrete, masonry, rubber, thermoplastics, single-ply roofing, etc. Eternabond A-Seal Tape is designed for use on metal buildings, trailer/RV roofs and sides, drain pans, drain pipes, ductwork, boats, canoes, and as a protective coating for surfaces where abrasion and corrosion resistance is required. A-Seal seals to itself so it can be cut and folded around an object, as if wrapping a present.
Basic Use
Eternabond A-Seal Tape is designed for use on metal buildings, trailer/RV roofs and sides, drain pans, drain pipes, ductwork, boats, canoes, and as a protective coating for surfaces where abrasion and corrosion resistance is required. A-Seal seals to itself so it can be cut and folded around an object, as if wrapping a present.
Composition
Eternabond A-Seal utilizes EternaBond’s advanced MicroSealant™ Technology, a 100% solids formulation of synthetic resins, thermoplastics and non-curing rubber (non butyl) with a built in primer. It is then bonded to a thick, 4-mil aluminum metal backing. The adhesive coating is protected by a thin, siliconized release liner, which is removed prior to application.
Surface Preparation
Surface must be clean and dry. Moisture, dust, dirt, or other foreign matter should be removed. Remove oil and grease, etc. with a suitable cleaner. Remove salt and other contaminants.
Application
Cut tape to desired lengths and shapes. Remove the release liner to expose the adhesive coating. Press tape firmly to surface to obtain conformability and adhesion. Apply pressure aggressively by hand, or preferably using a steel roller. When applied to surfaces, which permit spiral wrapping, allow for a half inch overlap to insure seal. Installation to temperatures as low as -10ºF is possible by treating the surface with Eternabond EternaPrime prior to installation and allowing A-Seal to remain at room temperature (+ 60°F) before applying.
