History

In the 33 years Pipe Prop inventor Jim Brown worked as an HVAC contractor in the Fort Worth, TX, area, he had seen the make-do, conventional way of propping drainage pipe on commercial roofs.

It was a time consuming, labor-intensive mess – 4X4s or landscape ties or whatever else was handy, cobbled together to hold up pipe. And then you hoped it didn't fall over in a stiff breeze, not to mention a heavy thunderstorm.

To solve that problem, Jim invented Pipe Prop, an adjustable system that elevates and secures all kinds of pipe to the roof, a versatile solution for HVAC and a host of other trades that need a dependable, secure platform.

At a 3½-inch height, Pipe Prop withstands loads ranging from 8,192 pounds at 0°F to 5,035 pounds at 140°F. It will not buckle, shatter or deteriorate in the harshest weather.

We recommend using ¾" schedule 40 PVC electrical conduit for the shaft of the unit because of its sunlight resistant characteristics.
