    Description

97 Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating is a premium, heavy-duty roof coating designed for superior protection and temperature control. It is composed of selected asphalts, pure aluminum pigment flakes, refined solvents, and reinforcing fibers, making it ideal for long-lasting service. When applied, the aluminum flakes rise to the surface, forming a reflective metallic shield that protects the roof from the sun's harmful rays.

    Key Benefits:

    • Solar Reflectivity: Reflects over 50% of the sun’s rays, shielding the roof's asphaltic oils from high temperatures, preventing premature drying or cracking.
    • Temperature Reduction: Helps lower indoor building temperatures during summer months, improving comfort and reducing energy costs.
    • Durable Protection: Extends the life of modified bitumen membranes and other roofing materials, with excellent resistance to fire, weather, and UV rays.
    • U.L. Class A Rating: Approved for fire resistance, providing additional safety benefits for roofing applications.

    Advantages:

    • Cool Roof Council Rating (CRRC)
      • Solar Reflectance: Initial 0.63 (3-year 0.55)
      • Thermal Emittance: Initial 0.46 (3-year 0.53)
      • SRI: Initial 62 (3-year 52)

    Uses:

97 Fibered Aluminum Roof Coating is ideal for reducing indoor building temperatures and protecting a variety of surfaces, including:

    • Modified bitumen membranes
    • Metal corrugated roof decks

    • KARNAK emulsion roof coatings (cured for 3-5 days)

    Additional Information

    Application Instructions:

    1. Surface Preparation: Sweep all surfaces clean of dust, dirt, oil, and debris. Repair cracks and blisters using 19 Ultra Rubberized Flashing Cement and a reinforcement layer. New asphalt roofs should weather for a minimum of 90 days before application. Surfaces primed with KARNAK emulsions can be coated after 3-5 days of curing.
    2. Application Process: Mix the coating thoroughly before use. Apply with a soft roof brush, roller, or spray, working the coating in one direction. Spread uniformly at a rate of 1 to 1.5 gallons per 100 sq. ft. (16-24 wet mils). Do not overwork the product to avoid disrupting the aluminum leafing effect.

    Caution:

    • Do not apply near open flames.
    • Avoid inhaling solvent fumes and prolonged skin contact.
    • Keep out of reach of children.
    • Do not thin or modify the product. Ensure no moisture contacts the roof within 24-48 hours after application.
