Description
The Acro 12045 Vertical Guard Rail base bracket and post is for low pitch roof, masonry and parapet walls. This unique system is designed to be anchored on the outside of a parapet wall so that work can be done to the decking and cap without interference from the fall protection system. The 12045’s durability and versatility also makes it ideal for temporary guardrailing around most openings or open edges (skylights, stairwells, elevator shafts, etc). 2 x 4 construction grade lumber is used for cross rails (not supplied).

When to Use a Vertical Guardrail System
- Edge Work on Flat Roofs:
- Flat Roof Edges: When work is being performed near the edges of flat roofs, where the risk of falling is significant, a vertical guardrail system should be installed. This provides a physical barrier to prevent accidental falls.
- Sloped Roofs:
- Low-Slope Roofs: For roofs with a low slope (less than 4:12 pitch), guardrails can be effective in providing fall protection. On steep-slope roofs, other fall protection measures like personal fall arrest systems might be more appropriate due to the angle of the roof.
- Roof Openings:
- Skylights and Hatchways: When working near skylights, hatchways, or any other roof openings, guardrails should be used to prevent workers from falling through these openings.
- Maintenance and Inspection Work:
- Regular Maintenance: During routine maintenance, inspection, or cleaning tasks performed on rooftops, guardrails should be in place to protect workers who might be moving around the roof frequently.
