Use EternaPrime when surfaces to be bonded are very dirty (oxidized and cannot be easily cleaned), or dusty (like on a tar and gravel roof). EternaPrime will prepare the surface by coalescing all loose particles into a solid platform for the EternaBond tape to adhere to. Also use EternaPrime if the installation temperature will be below 40 degrees F.
Brush-on EternaPrime is VOC exempt!
Basic Use
Eternabond EternaPrime is used to prepare surfaces for application of all EternaBond
tapes, under certain conditions. Those conditions include, but are not limited to: dirty
surfaces which are difficult to clean completely (like Tar and gravel), potentially loose
surfaces (like mortar), porous surfaces (like wood or concrete), and anytime the
EternaPrime tape is applied at temperatures below 40°F.
Composition
Eternabond EternaPrime is based on a VOC exempt solvent with a blend of our
elastomers and resins infused into the solvent.
Surface Preparation
Surface must be dry; remove heavy accumulations of loose rust and scale, dust, talc,
and dirt. Oil, grease, and other contaminants should be removed with a suitable
solvent/cleaner. Use of EternaPrime reduces clean up. Do not use EternaPrime on
PVC roofs as reactivation of some plasticizers may occur.
Application
Apply EternaPrime with a roller or a paint brush. Stir frequently.
